Definitely. The app platform for Yammer did not grow to what a Slack, Wunderlist or Trello is today.

Having said that, Yammer was built back in 2008 and they did not have access to the advancements in authentication, etc that Slack had in 2013 which would contribute to why the product was not as open as Slack. Yammer should have kept up with where the industry was going and changed the product to suit the requirements of developers.
